We are so thankful that Kevin (he/him) + Lezleigh (she/her) Kleibrink joined our Glendale family on Sunday, January 23, 2022! They have both already jumped right into the life of our community!

 
From the Kleibrink’s: “As the “capitol C” church has evolved, combined with life experiences that we’ve experienced, conflicting emotions began to arise within us. Both of us began to see in friends the effects of being ostracized by “so called Christians” for being their authentic selves–this did not sit well. Lezleigh worked with My Resource Center in Dallas, the LGBT community center, and witnessed so much failure of the “capitol C” church to the people of our community. Kevin saw everyday life issues within the work sphere that made me reflect on how I was being a true witness to those around him. The church has been debating LGBT issues, and this weighed heavily on our hearts.

When we moved to Nashville in May 2021, we wanted to find a church that was INCLUSIVE of all of God’s children, not EXCLUSIVE. After visiting a few churches, and looking up places of worship on gaychurch.org, we visited Glendale. What struck us as soon as they walked in the door was the welcoming feeling from the church and its members. We want to establish relationships with our siblings in Christ, and regain the feeling of the Spirit within the church that we once felt. We are excited to be a part of an inclusive group and can’t wait to serve God along with all of you.”
