We welcomed Julie Barroso into our Glendale Family yesterday during worship! We are so thankful that her search for a new church home in Nashville led her to us!

From Julie (she/her): “Since 1988, I have dedicated myself to preparing nurse scientists and caring for people living with HIV as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. My research career includes studies on HIV-related fatigue, developing an intervention to lessen the effects of stigma for women living with HIV, and examining the HIV care continuum.

Because of my life’s work, I started my church search here in Nashville looking for open and affirming churches. There was not a huge selection! I came to Glendale the Sunday after a cinder block had been thrown through the sanctuary window last July and decided this was where I wanted to be. I felt so welcomed here, and was happy I could wear yoga pants to church!”
