Glendale is a safe + affirming community where teens can ask real questions + dig deeper into their personal journey of faith + life.
Our youth group meets after worship every Sunday @ 11am in the youth room for a time of devotion, music, Bible study and to hang out with one another. Some of our weekly gatherings will be outside of Glendale as we build connection, serve others + explore our faith together out in the world!
Meet Sveta Griffin, our youth director: I was born in Irkutsk, Russia and came to the USA when I was 9 months old. Living in Nashville almost my entire life, I have come to love southern culture; however, finding an inclusive and affirming church proved to be difficult- especially as someone part of the LGBTQ+ community. I found Glendale and am thrilled to be a part of the accepting community at Glendale. I have an associates degree in Anthropology and a strong background in teaching kids and working with youth. I also have a partner and 3 bunnies at home, all of whom I adore!
I am excited about our youth group and its growth as a community for teenagers. No one is meant to walk this earth alone and during the teenage years sometimes it can feel incredibly lonely. I am cultivating a culture of spirituality, acceptance, enjoyment, and community for the youth at Glendale. I would love to see the youth group at Glendale continue to grow and everyone is always welcome! I look forward to meeting all of the youth at Glendale!
