Giving thanks to God that Jonathan Shepherd met people from Glendale over the years (before his first time coming) and chose to make us his church home + family in worship on Sunday!

From Jonathan: “Throughout my childhood, my family and I attended many church denominations. As a child and as an adult, I hated church because I could never live up to the unattainable standard they required of me to be a “good Christian.” Later in my life I did renew my faith however, it was always frustrating because I felt like a second class citizen because of my sexual orientation. For several years I did not attend church. Throughout the years I have met people from Glendale and they have always been kind to me. Towards the end of the pandemic, and no longer a part of a faith community, I decided to visit Glendale. As a messy, doubting, inconsistent, non-practicing pagan, queer person I have always felt welcomed and embraced at Glendale. I have never believed in church membership, even as a child, but I am so loved here that I want to be a member.”
