Harmful Language Removed – The United Methodist Church Becomes Fully Inclusive

do no harm - harmful language removed out of the book of united methodist discipline at general conference

Today we celebrate that The United Methodist Church has [finally] become a fully inclusive + affirming denomination through the work of our delegates from around the world at General Conference over these last two weeks!

Delegates to The United Methodist General Conference have worked to remove harmful language out of our Book of Discipline that was added in 1972 (and some since then) AND added protections throughout in regards to sexual orientation and gender identity! We continue to move forward in our mission at Glendale to be a safe, affirming, and inclusive community of faith that FULLY welcomes ALL people – no matter who they love or how they identify – to find community, grow in their faith, and experience God’s amazing + unending love + grace.
