SO thankful that we met Debbie Cleghorne and her family at Murfreesboro Pride in 2021 and they have found their home with us.
From Debbie: “I stumbled across Glendale at Murfreesboro Pride in 2021 because my oldest child wanted a popsicle. Steven took our picture in the Glendale frame and posted it on Glendale’s Facebook page. After pride, my children and I started watching Glendale and another church online we met at pride. We watched for months before getting up the courage to come in person. I tried to sit quietly in the back and sneak in and out as I had done for so many years at the Catholic church but James greeted us and did his best to make us feel welcome. Pastor Steph made me feel welcome to take communion. The next week I attended the other church we had been watching online and I was successful in sneaking in and out of the back of the church with no one really noticing me. The following week I returned to Glendale not sure I would not go running back to the Catholic Church but each week Pastor Steph’s sermons reached me in so many different ways and I met other people who were struggling with issues similar as me and felt welcomed and accepted as I was. Glendale is my church home, it welcomes all and I am happy to have found it.”
