Nathan’s Community Playground at Glendale is a safe and accessible space where children of all abilities can play together. For parents, guardians, and caregivers, find rest under our covered patio (which is also gated within the playground) with rocking chairs.
A space built for community.
“Nathan’s Playground” was built in 2013 to provide a place for neighborhood children to play and was made possible by the generous support of Warren Phillips.
In 2025, a major playground expansion was completed that serves the rapidly growing number of families within our church and also families throughout the neighborhood.
The expanded playground now spans this entire section of the lawn – more than doubling the play space – with additional swings and equipment (including accessible pieces), solid poured-in-place flooring, accessible ramps, and fully enclosed with fencing for added safety.
We need your help!
Help us maintain this community playground for decades to come – every gift helps and will be put directly toward keeping this space in excellent condition! Thank you for your support to provide kids and parents/caregivers a safe and accessible space to play in this community: https://gofund.me/4495b1b5
Nathan’s Community Playground Rules:
Supervise Children at All Times
Proper supervision is essential for playground safety. Adult supervision by parents, guardians, or caregivers helps keep kids safe while they explore and play.
Watch Out for Hot Surfaces
In warm weather, playground equipment, particularly metal ones, can heat up to dangerous levels and pose a risk of burns. Always touch-test slides, swings, and other play structures to ensure they’re cool enough for safe use before letting children play on them.
Report Unsafe Conditions
If you encounter any unsafe conditions on the playground, such as broken swings, damaged slides, or overgrown vegetation that obscures sight lines, report these issues immediately to the church. Doing so helps ensure that these hazards are dealt with promptly, preventing potential accidents and maintaining a secure and enjoyable play environment for all children.
